My Mihi

Mihi

Statistic

In statistics we learnt how to collect and spreed it out ( by spreed out I mean putting the final result on a piece of  paper to show how much we learnt and collected) we also can work with a partner.

So far I am not done my work so I can't show my reflection but I can tell you about it.

I am working with my partner named Molly. We are studying about what stuff is popular at the school canteen.

Parent interviews

In the parent interviews we had to highlight what we need to work and how to do it here is mine...

About Forces

In my class/ also the science room we are learning about forces. Here are some things I typed down ( my thoughts)
The Bucket one:
Force = Mass x Acceleration

When Miss swung the bucket round it had too much weight. Her strength couldn’t leave the out the weight of the bucket (For you smart people there was too much mass.)

When I swung the bucket i think Did well it felt light so my strength evened up with it.
The ball one:
Which will drop first?
I think it is going to be the medicine ball because it weighs 5 kg and  the basketball weighs 22 ounces so if we dropped the two balls at the same time the medicine ball will fall down because of its weight.

1x basketball
1x 5kg medicine ball.
in the end we tried it on the ground and then on top of the play ground. On the ground the basketball fell first. On the playground they landed at the same time.

Memoir

Characteristics of the Memoir:
  • It focuses and reflects on the relationship between the writer and a particular person, place, animal or object.

  • It explains the significance of the relationship.

  • It leaves the reader with one impression of the subject of the memoir.

  • It is limited to a particular phase, time period, place, or recurring behavior in order to develop the focus fully.

  • It makes the subject of the memoir come alive.

  • It maintains a first person point of view.

My first day of visiting Sockburn school was not really the best day.I was only 4 and I have never been near the Sockburn area. I remember my dad holding me like I was a little baby and sheltering me from the terrible rain that hit my face. It felt like a small hard object hitting my face constantly over and over again.

We were at the steps near the class, I saw a child and a teacher talking to each other, intently alarm bells rang in my head I was starting to regret my decision coming here but really it was not my decision to come.

As I walked in the classroom an old lady smell passed me , it was like a person gave me the perfume and made me spray myself. My future teacher walked up to me suddenly I was thinking a lot of thoughts I wasn’t a happy camper at the time.

The teacher approached me and my Dad “ Hello is this little one Meagan” ask my future teacher. “Yes I believe so” my Dad responded. The teacher was so nice she walked me to two people to look after me for the day,but of course I didn’t want him to leave me there so I pursued him with my cuteness.

At the afternoon the weather changed to sun I felt like I belonged there until they set us up with a task the involved writing and drawing about what the book was about. The book was about a monsters at a party, but little old me couldn’t write so I did the drawing part first. Then it came to the writing all my bad emotions came out I wanted to cry even though it wasn’t that hard of a task. I wayted 5 minutes, out of nowhere I started to cry the weather changed to rain again it got worse my temper was at high I couldn't stop screaming and yelling.
Normally Dad’s would rushed to their child and ask are you ok and let's go home before it gets worse, Not my Dad he rushed to me and he basically asked me 20 questions. The last question he asked was “ Do you want to go home?” I nodded my head really fast because I was desperate to go home.

My Dad picked me up out of suddenly the bell rang it was lunch time all the kids were so eager just to get outside it was like they were dying for the last piece of cake.We walked past my big sister Kimberely she questioned why we were leaving so early my Dad told her “ She just wants to go home”

  • Can give examples of how New Zealand’s identity is demonstrated through features such as language, celebrations, stories and food.
  • Can describe how shared cultural practices are recognized internationally as unique to New Zealand.

What we have been learning..
We have been learning different types of culture & learning about stuff about New Zealand and things about it.

How I think my work shows my learning..
NZ Triva
Map of NZ in Maori
Lolly Cake for Kids
Kiwi Burger
I think that I did a great job because I explained in all may tasks how to/ what does it mean/ what things is in New Zealand/ and New Zealand Stuff.

If I did this Kete again what would I do differently?
After I am done with my work I could help some one in my group finish because if I don't then we have to finish it in our own time.

Something I am wondering?
I am wondering they will re- update the Kiwi Burger song.

Paper Planes

Aim:
In science we were learning the forces of objects we had to give some other types of forces.

In the Paper planes we need to find out how far and what is the force.

Hypothesis:
I think my plane can stop about 2.5m ( the class room is 8.5 m long)

Forces on a paper plane:

Image result for forces on a paper plane
If the forces of my plane is balanced it will fly straighter.

Method:
I made a normal type of plane but it I thought it would fly further
Image result for normal paper plane

Results:
My plane didn't go that far  I could of did some adjustments.
My group got 6.67 m out of 8.5m

Discussion:
I learned that there are curtain ways to fold your plane. I going to do next time fold it straighter.
