In science, we are learning about metal....so in class, we have to create some type of learning to show what we want to learn about metals, here is my presentation.

Children of blood and bones

Ever thought of what type of writing methods writers use in their story? In Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, The author used methods such as symbolism, Events/ Plot, Multiple perspectives to engage the reader with the text. These methods help the reader to engage with different writing methods to hook their readers in.

Symbolism is used to help the reader understand what values of items or clothes the person in the story has a connection to that item of clothing/items. Here is one of the examples…. Chapter 47 - Inan

“I drop the pawn in the dirt and kick it aside. I must draw a line in the sand. I’ve been a sheep. A sheep when my kingdom needed me to act like a king.” That sênet pawn represents his father, every time he holds on to it, it reminds him of his father. Once he drops it, it represents his disobey to his father. The other words such as “ line in the sand”, and “Sheep” it’s a metaphor. Like the line in the sand means he has put his wall saying” this is where I stop” and “sheep” means like a follower. I think that Tomi included symbolism to her story is to make the readers relate to it.

Events/Plot is used to help the reader understand the different twists and turns in the book and also to keep the reader entertained and wanting to read more. For example..In Chapter 12, Inan brings Zélie to the dreamscape for the first time and they both realize that Inan is a Maji. In the movie Star Wars we later find out the Luke and Lea are Brother and Sister and Darth Vader is there dad. In that movie that was the twist that got me. I think that Tomi included events/plot to her story is to make the reader entertained and to think what’s going to happen next.

Multiple perspectives are used to help the reader understand different point of views. For example...Zélie is from a poor village, Her community is made to pay higher taxes because they have white hair, She wants to bring magic back to her people. As for Amari and Inan they live in a castle in Lagos, There community feels hatred towards the Maji and they are wealthy BUT Amari wants to save the Maji as for Inan he wants to obey his fathers wishes to become king and to get rid of all the maji. The author also included multiple perspectives in the book which is where they show Inan’s point of view is when he is stabbed by his father. The next chapter showed Amari’s point of view when Inan was getting stabbed. I think Tomi included multiple perspectives to her story is to make the reader see people's different point of views.

As you can see Tomi wanted to add these Methods/Techniques because she wanted her readers to know the different ways to make your storying more entertaining by adding these techniques/ methods such as symbolism, multiple perspectives, events/plot, and etc. Symbolism meaning the charter connection to the object, multiple perspectives meaning the different perspectives/ points of view, events/plot is when there are different twists and turns and it builds up your suspense.

Corrosion Experiment- Science

Aim: To investigate the Factors that cause iron to rust.

Hypothesis: I believe ( which makes me sound smart instead of saying " I think") that the salt water will be effective because salt has a lot of --------( don't know how to describe) chemicals.

Equipment: 5- less test tubes, Test tube RACK, a bung, 5- less iron nails, Nail polish, Vegetable oil, Saltwater, Calcium Chloride, Magnesium, water.

Method:

1. GrAb yA nAiLs ( grab your nails)
2.  gRaB tHe LiQuId yA nEeD ( Grab the liquids you need)
3. pAiNt tHe nAiL aNd wAiT fOr iT tO dRy, oNcE iT iS dRy pLoOp tHe nAiL iN tHe wAtEr. ( paint the nail and wait for it to dry, once it is dry ploop the nail in the water)
4. pUt sOmE OiL iN tHe nExT tEsT tUbE aNd aDd tHe nAiL. ( Put some oil in the next test tube and add the nail)
5. aDd sOmE sAlTwAtEr iN tHe oThEr tEsT tUbE tHeN aDd tHe nAiL. ( add some saltwater in the other test tube then add the nail)
6. tHe nExT tEsT tUbe y'AlL aDd iS cAlcIuM cHloRidE aNd tHeN aDd yOuR nAiL. ( the next test tube y'all add is calcium chloride and then add your nail.)
7. tHe lAsT LiQuId yA aDd iN tHe lAsT tEsT tUbE iS mAgNeSiUm aNd pLoOp yA nAiL iN. ( The last liquid you add in the last test tube is magnesium and ploop your nail in)
8. lEaVe oVeR tHe nExT 4 dAyS aNd y'AlL hAvE y'AlL rEsUlTs. ( Leave over the next 4 days and you'll have your results)

Observation:
The nail polish only had a little rust at the top, but other than that there was some nail polish that came off.
The oil had no rust, it was just oily.
The saltwater caused nothing.
The calcium chloride had only a little rust in it.
The magnesium didn't rust.

Conclusion:
My guess was wrong because I believed that the saltwater would be more effective, but it was only the Calcium Chloride and the Nail polish.

Sueson 1865's life in England - Social Studdies

Sueson 1865’s life in England

Sueson Smith is a 29-year-old Married woman who lives with her 30-year-old husband Benjamin Smith in England, her husband has a brunette haired child named Rose which is Season's stepdaughter and another one coming on the way. They live in a warm big brick house but Benjamin is a professional Soccer/ Football player so that means there are some fans that would follow him around and always call out his name. So Sueson and Benjamin decided that it was time to move down to little ol New Zealand because it is quiet, they have beautiful land and animals, and Susan's sister Victoria moved down there in 1864. “ Honey, have you packed all your things yet?” Sueson said to sweet little Rose “ Yess mum”  Rose said sweetly “ Darling have you got our tickets?” Sueson said anxiously to Ben “ Yip, I still don’t know why we brought the cheapest one, We can afford the expensive one you know? ” Ben said curiously “ Well suck it up darling” Sueson replied. Once they all got sorted with the packing Sueson and Ben sold their furniture such as the tables and headboards from the bed to an auction warehouse. “ Ok Family grab all your things and head to the car,” Sueson said to her family, while they were walking out the fans waved them goodbye.

* 1-hour drive later, they arrive at the ship dock* “ ok Rose sweety, Benjamin darling grab your things from the car and head to the ship” Rose advise them. Once they arrived Rose instantly bounced with joy and raced to the ship to see what was inside of it. This ship was an open buffé one where it could last you year loads, it had lots of beds and bunk beds. There cabin/bedroom was very quiet and warm place and stay, even the manager said it was the best bedroom to stay at but since she was pregnant he gave her that room, It was a pretty good ship for $15 ( NZ= $25). Benjamin carried all the stuff from the car ( with a little bit of help from the staff) meanwhile Susan and Rose walked themselves to the buffé to look for brunch. 10 mins later Benjamin joined them for brunch. “ Mummy….  Can I please have a popsicle or a lollipop???” Rose asked nicely “ Sure thing honey, anything you want” while Sueson was watching Rose skip off she felt sick so she asked Ben to watch Rose while she quickly walked to the bathroom. Sueson didn’t come out until Ben called her name, “ SUESON WHERE ARE YOU, IT’S BEEN 12 MINUTES!!” Ben screamed out “ HONEY I THINK THE BABY'S COMING, WALK WITH ME TO THE ROOM, AND GET ROSE!!” Sueson screamed back. * 13 minutes later the baby was born * they named the boy Clarence

* 6 months later * they arrived the birds were chirping but Sueson didn’t wake up to that sound, she woke up of the sound of her baby CLARENCE crying. Sueson rushed to the cradle to pick up the baby to calm the boy down but she found out why the baby was crying… he was crying because they just arrived at Littleton and he hears the bells blasting like hell. “ Benjamin it’s time to get our stuff packed up, and then contact Victoria while you're at it,” Sueson said to Benjamin to hurry him out of bed and to pack quicker or the ship will kindly escort them out without their stuff. 30 mins of packing there were done and they had time to thank the people on the ship, once that was done they walked out of the ship to see Victoria waiting for them. Instantly Rose ran to see her aunty “ Hay their cutie, have you missed your aunty….. And what is your mother carrying??” Victoria was happy and curious “ Mummy had a baby boy, and named him Clarence,” Rose said sweetly “ well welcome to the family baby boy “ Victoria smiles sweetly. Later Sueson, Benjamin, and Clarence joined Victoria and Rose in the car. In the car ride Victoria was explaining how her life was and how beautiful it is in NZ, Ben and Sueson nodded and smiled while they drove past farms and country land. When they arrived in Victoria’s house Sueson gave the baby to Rose to look after while Mum and Dad felt the land and to have a little stroll around. 30 minutes went past and Sueson and Benjamin came back and started imminently unpacking and making themselves countable, “ Mummy, I’m glad that we moved down here it is sooo pretty and nice” Rose joyfully said with a smile“ Me too” Sueson smiled back.

*Years went past and Benjamin is still playing Football/ Soccer professionally, Sueson is now 42 - year old Nurse, Rose is 17 now and she is into classical music and loves playing the piano , Clarence is 13 and he is really passionate will football/ soccer just like his father, they also still live in NZ and they brought a home right next to Victoria so they visit her whenever they want.*

Atomic Science- Science

In Science, we are learning about Atomic Science and we have to show are learning so... I decided to choose a poster so here it is

1. Word Equations in Science is when two or more chemicals are mixed together to produce a chemical reaction or a type of chemical product.
2. Balancing Symbols is when you have two chemicals that have balanced atoms in each of them to be able to make it a balanced chemical equation. ( Didn't really know how to explain it because that topic/part of the page was too hard for me to understand and get it in my brain, out of 100 I would say I know 70% of it)  
3. Atoms are things that contain Electrons (-), Protons (+), and Neutrons (0). Everything is made out of atoms even YOU!!
4. Elements are chemicals symbols that use usually use the name of the chemical. Its symbol can be one or two letters of the chemicals name but some chemicals don't start with there starting letter such as Gold=Au

Theatre Sports - Drama

In drama, we are learning about improvising so the way we practice improvising is to play games. The games we played was 3 words while we are doing a physical movement. Me and my buddy was improvising going on holiday to Disneyland but we ended up driving there but we killed a guy with our car.

Also, we are performing a piece in the musical Carrie with the song " In" that's gonna be our class number pice.

English Review

Avatar: Last Airbender : The Great Divider could be connected to people that have there differences and fight, it is also about working together.

Super girl could be connected to people who are different in the world.

Super girl helped me to understand not to judge people just because they're different.


Barriers helped me to understand don’t call them a nickname.

Barriers could be connected to people that try to pronounce other people's names.

Zootopia could be connected to things shouldn’t be what you expected.

Zootopia helped me to understand that nothing is perfect and it shouldn’t be what you expect.

Glee could be connected to the world around us where people don’t accepted other people.

Glee helped me to understand that people have feelings and not that much people realize that.

Butterflies could be about people that live/ think differently than other people.

Butterflies help me understand that different people have opinions about the world.

Ghost could be connected to peoples past and present.

Ghost helped me understand that you can be scared of your past and what your future holds.

Hunger games could be connected to people taking advantage.

Hunger games helped me understand that rich people can take advantage of poor.
