Complete combustion experiment ~ Science

In Science, we are learning about combustion so I have decided to do THIS

Combustion is when a chemical will react between the oxygen and another thing.

Aim: I want to find out what happens

Hypothesis:
There's not really a hypothesis because I already saw the video ( WHICH I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU WATCHING THE END RESULT BECAUSE THAT'S A SPOILER UNLESS YOU JUST WANT TO SEE THEN PROCEED WITH MY BLOG)

Equipment:
  • Water ( Colour it if you want to see what is happening)
  • Candle
  • Plate
  • Glass
  • Matchsticks or a lighter
Method:
  1. Grab your water with or without the colour in it 
  2. Pour your liquid on the plate half full.
  3. Place your candle in the middle of the plate.
  4. Light the candle
  5. Grab your glass and place it on top of the candle with the open side facing down so it's like a dome cave thing
  6. And now watch as see the magic


Results/ Observations:
I think it went pretty well as you can see from the videos... I hope 

Conclusion/ Discussion:
The reason why this happens is that there was oxygen in the glass with the candle in it which had a lot of oxygen ( Air) and so the something happens to make it be able to get rid of the air to make room for the water to rise in.

Evaluation:
What would I do the same?: Literally the same thing
What would I do differently?: Maybe find different was to see how it would work.

Mask~ Drama

In Drama, we are looking at comedia style stuff that involves being a character with or without a mask so we watch taming of the shrew and all that and how people preform with facial expressions with or without a mask on.

So then we created a mask for ourself so we looked at all the masks, picked one out and made it out of paper mache. So here is my process...



I chose the one with the pointy nose because I wanted mine to stand out and seem unique, well all the mask was unique but this one stood out to me. Mine turned out good but there was some hole everywhere so I adapted to it and made it look like my person was the plage doctor that is starting to have the plage.

My one challenge was to make the mask because I have never made a paper mache mask before.
I was very surprised that it came out good because I thought it would be a flop.

Ideal World ~ English

In English, we are thinking creatively for today we are talking about: If you have the power to change the world what would it be and look like?.

In my ideal world, I would have peace where everyone will get along and no one would have beef ( no drama and no problems). Everyone will have soft hair and soft skin because...... yo... Everyone should keep the earth healthy and happy. People will live longer because the amount of death is sad BUT when you die you get reincarnated to a different life

How to make it a reality: Maybe by giving each other compliments, help clean around your neighbourhood. Don't know about the soft skin, hair, and life bit though.Image result for heaven

______~ Home ec

Our last practical was_______ ( can't remember the name so anything that has ________ is the name of it)


_____ is in my opinion like stir fry but with noodles. This meal consists of noodles, meat, vegetables, and soy sauce. The way it was cooked is letting the noodles sit in a bowl of water for 10 mins then draining it and leaving a 1/2 of the access water with it ( but little ol me didn't read the recipe because I was under stress and so I accidentally drained the whole thing -__-) anyway once that is all happening you cook all the other ingredients with each other . You got to make sure that the meat is moist, not hard because if it is it's going to be burnt, and you don't want that happing. 

Teamwork:
Eh, could have gone better, I felt like I was out of my head because I wasn't in the right mind state but we all tried to make it work 
Outcome:
The outcome was good it was well presented but I wouldn't know what it tasted like because I didn't eat it but my sister did so i'll tell you her feedback in the conclusion.

Conclusion:
Taste: 3/10. My sister rated that because she felt like it was too soy saucey because it looked like it was drenched in it
Prep: 2/10. I think we did ok I guess but I felt like we could have done better with all the prep.
Teamwork: 7/10. I felt like some of us was working together and others were lacking 

Treaty~ Social Studies

In social studies, we are learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. SO once we learnt about it we got to pick a treaty between the United States & Native Indians, and England & Scotland. I chose the United States & Native Indians treaty. To show our learning we have to present our work and I chose to do a poster ( also sorry if it's not enough or complete I found it really hard to read and gather information. This is it so far i'll update it later)

Maori and Euro Population Changes in NZ 1836-1901

















  1.  What does the graph show us?: This graph showed us that the Europeans grew in their population whereas the Maori population keep increasing and decreasing.
  2.  Why do you think the numbers of Maori change?: They live in a land where the Maori don't have the technology so all these Maori could have a disease and they can pass it on which will affect their population growth.
  3.  Why do you think numbers of Europeans changed?: Because the Europeans live in a popular environment can populate more and more.

Spag Bol ~ Home eco

In our last practical we did we made Spag Bol





Spag Bol is a pasta type of dish that uses spaghetti pasta and tomato sauce, in that included onions, garlic. The pasta had to be cooked on/in an al dente level. At the end when everything was cooked we had to heat the meal - the cheese ( Because if we did it would have been cold) 

Teamwork:
Once again this was another successful practice because there were some ups and downs but mostly good because we worked together getting the jobs done.
Outcome:
The outcome was good it was well presented, by that I mean it looked good and tasted nice BUT to me, I can handle dry pasta for a little bit of time before I gag ( Yes there was sauce but I dint;t think of mixing it).

Conclusion:
Taste: 7/10. I rate it that because for me at the start it was nice and delouse but if I eat too much dry pasta I gag.
Prep: 9/10. I think we did good on prep and cooking it, I keep everyone on their toes once again ( even me too)
Teamwork: 9/10. I think we worked well as a team even though I thought we weren't going to make it because I put the wrong pot on the wrong element BUT  we made it on time, maybe earlier than some, but I'm lucky I had luke because I would have forgotten some steps

Hi, I’m rose, there is something unique about me, no I'm not born with extra body parts, But I was born with supernatural power. I am a shapeshifter, for people that don’t know about shapeshifting, shapeshifting is a person that can shapeshift into and object or a creature. OH, you're probably wondering how old I am …. I’m 17 and you're also probably wondering where my little friend went. He’s still here he’s just next door, To be honest, 13 years ago he was sooooooooooo cute and I looked at him as a friend, but now he has had a glow up, he went from a 5 to a 10. Now he's just hot, but of course, people from our school think they are in love with him at first glance, well I call a lot of crap. ANYWAY MOVING ON him and I have been close friends but to him I am a close friend maybe even best friend, Lucky he doesn’t find me to be sibling metral , BUT he is to me a close friend but I really have had a crush on him since we were 4 but the thing is he doesn’t know how much attention I give to him. OH, I forgot he's coming over at 4:30pm and now it 4:29 pm, shoot I forgot to change, eh he doesn’t care that I'm still in my pj’s it’s not like we are going somewhere. *knock *  * Knock* “ Heyyyyy, Rose, did ya get the snacks and started up netflix”

Te Tiriti o te Waitangi~ Maori Gods

In Social Studies we are learning about Te Tiriti o te Waitangi. This is what we are learning so far......


Discuss the idea of Mythology/stories in religion, and the role myths and stories play in society?: They make people believe that back then there was a God that created the world. It is providing people with an understanding of how the world was created, as well-meaning to their life.

What similarities are there between the myths and stories of Màori and the first British Missionaries?: They all believe that there is some type of god that created the whole back then


Why would the difference between Màori beliefs and English beliefs cause conflict?:
Both the Maori mythology and Christain religion emphasised worship and solidarity of their god/s respectfully

Wind racer~Science

In science, we are focusing on forces and how it affects everyday items and equipment. So to demonstrate it we decided to make wind racers ( Sails ) soooooo here is the process we had to go through...


  1. Research: The first step was to look up what is it and all the forces that act on it and how to make it glind through the wind.
  2. Design: The second step was to design it and make the pictures and images come to life ( 3D). Our design was dived by three ( Because we had three people in our team) 
  3. Build: The third step was to build it and draw it. BUT now we had 5 people in our team but two members were not there so we divide it but three and so that one of the members the weren't there can draw on one of there mates bit. SO I decide to put the country's I am from so I put half Filipino and half New Zealander because that's what I am. We also put two cardboards at the bottom to make it go through the air a little bit faster and longer.
  4. Test: Now came the test, so one of our team members had to use the leaf blower for it to be able to go through the wind. So we had to record the time/long the racer went through the wind and our time and distance were 5.07 seconds and 2.30m was our distance.
  5. Redesign/ Make changes: So after the first testing, we were able to redesign and make changes so it can be improved. SO what we did was cardboard in the middle of the paper and the pole.
  6. Test: SO now the redid test came back, so we tested it and..... it failed because the original distance was 2.30m but we did 1.80m -________- so I wasn't pleased ( I was flipping out because the original was better than the second one) 
  7. Evaluation: SO, in conclusion, the original one was better with two cardboard at the bottom and just paper for the sail.

Japan~ Home ec

What have I currently learnt about japan?: Some foods I already know and some different type of culture they have there.

What did I learn today?: I learnt that there are more things I didn't know that NZ adapted from Japan.

How does Japanese presentation compare to NZ presentation?: Well for us some take quick to make it prepared and others take least one hour BUT in japan, it is like an art, like the way they present it is always beautiful and creative.

Gymnastics~ PE/ GYM


  1. What sequence or routine is your video showing?: The Sequence I did was forward roll, jump 1/2 and backwards roll. A( I don't know how to spell) Cartwheel, forward roll, whole jump, backwards roll.
  2. Why did I choose this sequence?: I chose this two-floor sequence because it was easy to do and hard.
  3. Do you think you have improved in this sequence? At the start, I do admit I was the worst at it but I keep trying and I practised SOOO hard
  4. How did I improve?: I had help but Mr Hillard and my friends incurring me.

Tech and Change

In social studies, we are learning about tech and change throughout the whole term. In this topic, we have learnt about technology these days and how it has changed, the Egyptian times, Roman era. What was my favourite thing about this topic?: Making the lego pyramids and TP mummies.

Pad Thai ~ Home Eco

In our last practical we did we made Pad Thai.

Teamwork:
Once again this was another successful practice because there was only three of us which was very difficult even though there was three of us but we made it work. We may needed help by two people BUT we still made it work.

Outcome:
The outcome was good it was well presented, by that I mean it looked good and tasted nice, it's a shame that there was 3 of us even though the job required 4 people.

Conclusion:
Taste: 9/10 . I rate it that because I wish mine was more spicy, like it was beautiful but it could have a little more spice to it.
Prep: 9/10. I think we did good on prep and cooking it, I keep everyone on there toes.
Teamwork: 9/10. I think we worked well as a team even though there was 3 of us BUT somehow we made it work.

Pizza ~ Home Economics

In our last practical we did we made Pizza.

Teamwork:
Once again this was another successful practical because at the start we all decided who would do what and that went pretty smoothly if someone didn't have a job to do they would just do some cleaning up 

Outcome:
The outcome was good it was well presented, by that I mean it looked good even though there was A LOT of cheese leftover and some other vegs BUT other than that we worked well as a team, we may have been a little behind but we knew how to pick up the pace and make sure we are on time. 

Conclusion:
Taste: 10/10 The ingredients were so juicy and nice on the taste buds.
Prep: 10/10 I think we did an amazing job dividing ourself between the jobs and how if one person was doing nothing they could clean up.
Teamwork: 10/10 Like I stated up the top with my points.

Ancient Pyramids~ Social Studies

In Social Studies we are learning about tech and change, For this topic, we are studying more about the Ancient Egypt People and it in general. Within a topic, in a topic, we are learning about pyramids and everything about them. So after we learnt about of stuff about them we made pyramids out of lego blocks and this is what we created.......

 This is me being an awkward person that I am when someone takes photos of me. Also, these are my two moods in class. This is also me thinking at this moment .. what am I doing














So after I built something our whole table decided to make a big HUGE one.. as you can see this is our group helping each other out.

Speeches- English

In English this term we are learning about presenting and talking to the class. We are showing this by doing speeches, people in my class have different types of speeches such as a favourite show to personal experiences. Mine is about Breakup and Relationships.

We first started off presenting to the whole class but after that, we have the option to present it to the whole class, so I decided to present it to the whole class.

So like I said before mine is about break-ups and relationship, I only did this topic because it is a personal experience and It will probably inspire people ( if you want to see it then comment down below with your email so I can send it to you)

I am proud that I did it because it will help me and other people in their lives.

The thing I will change next time is to be just a BIT more confident in it because I am worried that people will laugh at me for showing my emotions.

Sushi- Home Ec

In our last practical we made vegetarian type sushi.

Teamwork:
This was another successful practical because in the first half we were working as a team but in the second half it was individual, there was just one task where someone had to add a tiny bit of water to the sheet to make it wet.


Outcome:
The outcome was good it was well presented, by that I mean the way people cut there sushi and presented it in there container.

Conclusion:
Taste: 5/10 I normally don't eat sushi because of what happened in 2016, so it's very rare if I like sushi
Prep: 10/10 I think we equally divided ourself with who's doing what.
Teamwork: 9/10 because no one seemed to help me when I need the last bit to put my sushi all together 

Ancient Egyptian Inventions- Social Studies

Back then the Egyptians created many things such as ramps and levers. They used this type of thick paper that was called Papyrus. It was used for writing on, It was made from the tissue, steam bit of the papyrus plant. This was known as a thing you would write and keep it, roll it up altogether like a scroll, or can be made into a book with the writing on it. They used this material to make paper, reed boats, mats, rope, sandals, and baskets. The papyrus was relatively cheap and easy to produce, but it was sooo fragile and dry. It was very hard to write on it because of its troubles.

 The first earliest papyrus paper to be found was in 2012 which was dated back in c 2560-2550 BCE.

Stone Art- Social Studies

In Social Studies we are learning about Stone age. Back then there were cave people and they would draw art work ( pictures ) on the walls to either show what they were doing on that day or what it was like back then. SO we decided to re-create that by crating our own art. Here are some art work.....














As you can see that people did diffrent artworks. The bottom one represents two people hunting to get food for them. The top one ( even if you don't see it in the photo) is showing that the bottom in the corner is someone rounding up the animals. The art in the middle is random art with a person with a bow. The one on the left is showing

Fish & Chips - Home ec

In our last practical we did we made Fish & Chips. The way we did it was the fish we used was Hoki and the chips we did was either sweet potato or red potatoes.

Teamwork:
My group worked really well together we made the person not doing any work made him help with us. We did full behind on the mixture with the chip but other than that it all went smoothly and on time.

Outcome:
 I think the meal tasted divine, it has the right number of spices to it. The chips tasted nice.
We also had to make a paper cone.... ( I failed at that :( )  so that it looked really nice and decorated.
Overall I think it was good teamwork and good cooking :)

In conclusion I think that our class did pretty good with our hours on are a device, At least no one actually did the whole 72 hours because that would mean that no-one had slept and they would most likely be sick right now.

Jam Filled Drops - Home Ec

In our last weeks practical we made Jam Drops. Jam drops are like cookies BUT it had Jam in the Middle.

Teamwork:
My group worked well together there is one person that didn't know what to do so he was just standing there but he did help to make the forming shape. I think one of our members was doing a good job, he knows what he was doing and he was a good person to work with.

Outcome:
In the review, we had feedback from the staff members. 

One Teacher said this: " It was very delicious, very nice, but it was just lacking some flavour"

My Feedback: It was really nice a fresh , warm and soft. I would be better if they were crispy

Schools should get rid of Uniform? (Debate Topic) - English

Schools should get rid of uniform?

Would you imagine if your child got lost in a school field trip and they got reported missing? Imagine if your teenage daughter exits the house only wearing a crop top, and high shorts revealing everything God gave her?  Or even when your child is being recognized for doing something right for our country? Whatever your opinion or situation is schools shouldn’t lose their school uniform for educational purposes, what I mean by that is….

Say you were on a school field trip and you got lost in the petting zoo and there is a crowd of adults with their kids, you get lost and you start wondering around trying to find someone that looks familiar but it seems like you can’t find anyone. In this scenario, it is really important to have a school uniform because it’s going to be easy finding your school plus if you get reported missing they can describe you. Some people can easily find another person from school but others can’t.

One day your teenage daughter isn’t your little princess/ baby anymore because she walked out of the house in a crop top, high shorts which are revealing a lot of her body, No one wants to see a girl that shows too much. If your child's school doesn’t have a uniform , they can abuse that and dress about inappropriately. These generation girls that are pre-teens and teens wear clothes that are either too high or revealing and in my opinion, makes me cringe because to think that girls that are younger than me are wearing clothes that reveal too much, to me they're still a little baby and it just looks wrong :(


Your child is on a school convention and they have just won a trophy and the announcer said “ Hello, and what school do you go to?”  because she/he is confused. When you get an achievement normally your parent takes a photo of you next to your trophy wearing your uniform but if you have no uniform on it looks unpresentable. Here's another one, say your child saw some rubbish on the ground and they picked it up, someone saw it and they wanted to tell your school that on of their students picked up rubbish but they can’t so they just ignored it. Some adult likes to say to you good things you are doing in the world.

As you can see from this information that school uniforms shouldn’t be taken away because of your child/ school mate could get lost and can’t find anyone from there school, that your teenage child is dressing up in revealing clothing, and that of your child got recognized for something great they are doing for the school.
